As a team, how do we work effectively together?

COLLABORATION

The synergy that comes from putting individuals together to form collaborative teams to solve problems, make decisions, initiate actions and even self-manage the business is power that must be harnessed for continued organizational success in today’s rapidly increasing complex environment. However, the benefits of team collaboration come only when people can work together interdependently to achieve collective purpose.

Leaders (nor facilitators) cannot make a team. There is nothing that anyone - manager, leader, or member - can do to make a team be great, to ensure its effectiveness. What can be done is to create and sustain specific enabling conditions that smooth the team’s path towards its objectives. In the nature, a plant is more likely to prosper when the seed is good, the soil is fertile, water is plentiful, and the sun shines frequently. None of those conditions, by itself, guarantees healthy development of the plant. But together, they increase the chances of a favorable outcome. It is the same with teams.

Team Collaboration helps members build on their strengths and minimize their weaknesses. It encourages them to manage their differences together, and it promotes a better understanding between individuals.

New leader on-boarding, new members joining, newly merged after re-organization: goals to be (re)aligned, roles to be (re)defined, trust to be (re)built. Do it ASAP.

Sales, marketing, retail, research, engineering, operations, IT, HR, finance … any team can encounter performance issues. We facilitate deep dialogues for improvement.

Whether it’s a major structural change, working process change, culture change, or business transformation - bring your team together and let them get prepared.

A collection of individuals working on the same task are not necessarily a team. They have the potential to become a high-performance team but first, they need to clarify their purpose, strategies, and accountabilities.

As a core value, teamwork means that people believe that working with others is important and that they are willing to be part of teams and commit to common goals.

Teams, although uncomfortable to some, are the best way to accomplish integrated tasks like creating systems, producing complex products or sustained efforts. They are also useful in cutting across boundaries to get things done.
