Globalization, automation, regulation, 24x7 mobility, and disruptive change have dramatically impacted our work and life. Leaders can no longer depend on past patterns of success to operate effectively in this landscape. Agile Leadership is more adaptive, empowering, impactful and effective leadership in highly complex, uncertain and rapidly changing times. 




Adaptive organizations require adaptive leaders. Whether you are an executive, first-level manager, somewhere in the middle, or influence in other ways, agile leadership can benefit your effectiveness to connect, inspire, align and influence. 




Agile Leadership is not an end-state that can be reached, it is a growth mindset with increasing awareness, adaptiveness and effectiveness. As a leader develops agility, they increase their flexibility to situational adapt in complex environments. In essence, more agile leaders see a broader landscape and have more choices available to make more informed decisions and take more effective actions. 




Leadership is not a title. Leadership is an act of service to focus, align and shape a group of people for meaningful purpose toward valuable outcomes. Everyone can demonstrate leadership. And leadership can be developed. Awareness of your leadership mindset and behaviors and how they influence others is the key first step. Understanding where you are, where you want to be, and charting a path to get there is the second step. 



This certification workshop helps you discover a path and navigate to heighten your awareness, sharpen your focus, improve your connectedness, and increase your influence as a leader.

Module 1: Agile Leadership Context

Complexity,  uncertainty and the pace of disruptive change continue to escalate globally. We demonstrate the need for new ways to reduce risk, manage budgets, lead projects, and engage stakeholders. 

Module 1: Organization Culture

Organization culture is the #1 barrier to increased agility. We teach leaders how to identify their culture and how their culture’s strengths and challenges may enable and inhibit agile ways of working. 

Module 2: Agile Leadership

Leadership is a choice. Yet most leaders are unaware of the hundreds of choices they make each day, limiting their effectiveness. We show leaders a new path to improve engagement and effectiveness. 

Module 2: Agile Organizations

Most agile transformations fail to deliver defined results. We show leaders the pitfalls of top-down/bottom-up approaches and how to effectively lead an inside-out, value-based program to sustain agility. 

Module 3: Catalyst Conversations

Beyond servant leadership, catalyst leaders are more purposeful, creative, balanced and adaptive. We develop proactive and positive agitators of change for themselves and others they engage. 

Module 3: Shaping an Agile Culture

Culture change is not posters on the wall, it is an intentional focus on values guided by leadership. We teach leaders the levers of change: structures, policies and measures to shape and sustain a culture of agility. 

Module 4: Catalyst Conversations

Leadership is not a solo sport. We teach leaders a catalyst conversation technique to improve every discussion, decision, and team meeting with more balance, voice, and shared-ownership. 

Module 4: Leading Agile Change

Like agile transformations failing, most change initiatives fall as well. We teach leaders why and show them how to avoid the pitfalls and to engage the organization to share ownership to build success. 

Module 5: Catalyst Feedback

Feedback is a core principle of an empirical approach. We help leaders recognize common threats and to create an environment for safe feedback to give and receive feedback more effectively. 

Module 5: Catalyst Canvas

Transformations are only A-to-B. Agility requires a disciplined inspect and adapt routine. We provide leaders a catalyst canvas: a simple tool to help focus, align and accelerate change that can be used routinely.  

Module 6: Catalyst Habits

Like health and fitness, leadership requires a disciplined routine to sustain and grow. We teach leaders the importance of, and techniques to build their new skills into disciplined growth habits. 

Module 6: Agile Coaching

Every organization is unique. We guide both leadership teams and individuals leaders in applying the techniques to their organization context and develop the next steps in shaping their organizations.

Upon successful completion of Agile Leadership programs, participants may earn certificates and badges - Applied Agility in Leadership and Applied Agility in Organizations - from Agile Leadership Journey to recognize the work toward completion of that particular course of study and practice. However, we believe that completion of a course is the beginning of the next phase in a leader’s journey that our learning and practice as leaders is never done. 


Agile Leadership workshop is designed to meet Scrum Alliance’s CAL requirements in order to earn Certified Agile Leadership credentials and CAL badges for completing our programs.  This 2-day workshop of Agile Leadership aligns with the Scrum Alliance Certified Agile Leadership Essentials (CAL-E) and Certified Agile Leadership for Organizations (CAL-O) learning objectives.
