Companywide collaboration focuses on how to get people residing in different units through the company to work together to solve problems that no expert, no matter how smart or hard working, could solve alone.

Increased Sales | Saved Cost | Improved Efficiency

Collaboration in companies can have a significant impact on financial returns through three mechanisms.

Collaboration is especially useful …

Taming Complexity

“When problems have many intertwined causes, or solutions require novel skills and materials, it’s critical to be able to bring a diverse group of people together to be productive. ”

Facing Ambiguity

“When  the challenge being faced has unknown unknowns, and there isn’t a clear, structured path forward to find a solution.”

Getting Alignment

“When decisions span many types of people, getting them to participate helps build a shared understand of the situation and how to proceed.”

Engaging Employees

“When an organization needs to build camaraderie and a sense of mission, supporting collaborative work gets people more deeply engaged.”

Yes, three heroic men went to the moon; but it was a team of 400,000 people that put them there.

They were the flight directors, controllers, planners, engineers; the rocket designers and builders and technicians; the managers, supervisors, quality control and safety inspectors; the programmers, electricians, welders, seamstresses, gluers, painters, doctors, geologists, scientists, trainers, and navigators …

It’s their story too.

Which relationships are most important for creating value for customers?

Is it the people you report to and those who report to you, or the people in other functions, units, or geographies whose work touches yours in some way. Which relationship get prioritized in your day-to-day job?

Today the vast majority of innovation and business development opportunities lie in the interfaces between functions, offices, or organizations. In short, the integrated solutions that most customers want - but companies wrestle with developing - require horizontal collaboration.

Leadership Team Cohesion

We, Collaborators

Collaborate!

This off-site meeting provides an opportunity for the leadership team to address their cohesiveness, as well as to step back and question how healthy their organization is.

Bringing teamwork skills into  collaborations is not sufficient.  This course offers practical advice, guiding principles and tactics that you can use to master collaboration.

In complex organizational activities, effective collaboration is often a necessary requirement for success. Bring your cross-unit team together on day 1 to develop strong ties.

Companies can better meet - and exceed - their clients’ expectations when leaders collaborate to integrate their expertise across organizational silos, disciplines, and geographic divides to provide more holistic, tailored, joined-up solutions. We call that Smart Collaboration.

Learning is the process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience.  To learn from their experience, teams must create a conversational space where members can reflect on and talk about their experience together.

I firmly believe that the ability to learn from experience is one of the most important skills that a person can have. Effective reviewing (also known as ‘debriefing’) skills are at the heart of successful experience-based learning.  Reviewing is for everyone. We all do it. It is how we learn, grow and develop.
